I haven't been a member here at da for too awefully long but I have been having a lot fun here. Meeting some great artist who have been doing art for years and some young folks, also a few like me who have come by it a bit later in life. Have done a contest entry, LOL. Participated in a few art trades and that is a blast!! Have been playing around in the damuro. Argggggg...... It likes to take my work and make it go "***POOF***" its gone, disappeared from all known sources to me. Time to start over. LOL  I have been using it to try and practice this digital art painting and such to determine if I will get the SAI paint program or not. Well

Ah, well isn't this a lovely time of year. Fall colors here in the U.S. are abounding and I am ink painting bright flowers onto another birdhouse gourd. I often find myself doing cacti since I love them. I created one with thistles! Yes, thistles. They are actually quite pretty flowers and the leaves are flamboyant and pointy sharp. Makes for a neat contrast concept. Much like a rose does. Prickly poppies are actually quite stunning plants. Perhaps I should do a birdhouse gourd with some of those. They are a beautiful white petaled flower with seriously thorny stems and sharp leaves. I still have another 7 birdhouse gourd orders to complete

Wow, another journal to write one's crazy personal thoughts and comments in. These are as common as the blogs seem to be. Generally I don't either one but I am not sure how many folks here are familiar with gourd art. So based on that it is here that I hope to expand some insight and maybe some others into the sheer thrill of gourd art. Those that can do canvas work and other flat media art will easily adapt to gourd art in the drawing, painting, inking, and other coloring methods. As for me, I don't seem to transfer from the concave, convex and multiple curves of the gourds to the flat so well. Ah, I guess that makes me a "work still in pro
